Hard to believe that it is almost the end of October. The weather has finally started to cool off and we’re starting to wrap up outdoor things around our house. I’ve been thinking of how I’d like to spend the last few months of the year – checking in on my goals and all that – and here’s what I’ve come up with.
Get my exercise back to a consistent routine
I’m making progress since I injured my knee and am managing about four workouts a week. I’d really like that to get to 6 – for a total of at least 7 hours a week. That’s a comfortable amount of training for me right now with nothing on the race horizon. I need to get back into pre-race shape so I can start my tri training in January.
Get the garage finished
We started installing vapour barrier over my fall break and are so close to being done! We’ve been a little lazy this past year with our home repairs so it feels good to be back on track. We have fallen into a routine where we come home from work, feel exhausted and then spend hours sitting around. With some home repairs on the go we’ve been more efficient with our time – taking advantage of a hour here and there this week to get out and work. Hopefully it will make us more productive in the long run.
Read the stack of books sitting on my nightstand
I have a ton of books I want to read – and since I’m still several books short of my reading goal for the year I need to tackle the pile. It isn’t that I don’t want to read them, but more that I haven’t been making time. It is kind of easy to let the pile build up because I own the books and there isn’t any pressure to return them. However, the pile has reached dangerous proportions and I need to deal with it before it falls over.
What are your plans for the next few months?
