This week I got my first “fall” vegetable – spaghetti squash. I also got carrots, potatoes, garlic, parsley, kohlrabi and purple lettuce.
I was very excited to see cases of tomatoes at the market this week too. We bought two cases (40 lbs) of beautiful organic field tomatoes and the accompanying vegetables to make chili sauce and salsa. I haven’t tried making spicy cooked salsa yet but my sister-in-law makes an amazing salsa and very kindly gave me her recipe to try. I think we’ll have another busy weekend of canning.
