We got a spring snow storm on Thursday which blanketed our yard with lots of fresh, wet snow. It wasn’t the most pleasant day – I’d worn my Toms to work and my feet got soaked walking to my car after work. But, I got these lovely mineral samples at work so it wasn’t all horrible.
They are a collection of minerals from the Canadian mining industry and even though they are over 30 years old, they are in great shape.
The snow had mostly melted by Friday but we woke up to more snow this morning. The weather isn’t exactly cooperating with our plans for working on the yard, but it is a perfect day to relax at home for a little bit. Doggo and I started our day off with a 4 mile run. I haven’t been running since Tuesday, when the weather was absolutely lovely. The river looked like this earlier this week:
and we spotted tons of crocuses along the river:
Today things were a bit different, all the lovely crocuses that we spotted were covered in a layer of snow.
Stiil, we had a good run. Patches actually likes the cool weather so he had lots of fun. I had less fun but still enjoyed being out after a few too many days off.
We reorganised the seed cage this morning as well. The onions and artichokes are getting quite tall, but the cabbages and cone flowers still need the lights at a lower height. We moved things around so that all the tall plants are at one side of the cage and the smaller plants are at another. This way we can have the lights on an angle. They are looking really good and I’m excited to put them out in the yard in another month and a bit.
Now that we’ve done our running around for the day, I’m going to curl up with a cup of tea and my newest book. Hopefully the snow is gone soon and we can return to working outside.
