We spent a lovely summer day in the yard today. We finally got the lawn mowed and I put in some bedding plants. I’d delayed so long that everything at the nursery was 50% off so I picked up a few extras as well. The deck looks so much better with flowers!
The weather was beautiful all afternoon, so I decided that a potato salad was in order for dinner. I had some beautiful heritage potatoes in the cupboard so we picked up some celery and made a purple potato salad. Because I never know what to do with chives (and they grow like weeds in my garden) I used a few as a salad garnish.
We attempted to eat it on the deck (in true summer style) but it was too cold and windy. That can be a problem with Calgary, but at least the salad tasted like summer!
