If you’re in southern Alberta you are probably well aware of the weather we’re having. Right now it is a mere degree away from -30C, which is the temperature I woke up to this morning. The sky looked just like a February morning somewhere north of Fort McMurray, so I knew it was a very cold day even without checking the thermometer.
I’m doing my fair share of complaining about the weather but there is something about being onside on such a cold, clear morning that appeals to me. I’ll admit it appeals to me for only a short while, but there is still a little part of me that celebrates being outside at temperatures that stiffen plastic dog bags. I’m not saying I’d tramp around in the cold at 6:30 am for my own pleasure, but I’m a little bit glad that Patches motivates me to get out there.
