Even though I didn’t make a turkey for Thanksgiving I did make a pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pie is not one of my favorite pies, but many other people enjoy it so I don’t mind making it. I don’t have a favorite recipe, since I only make it once a year, so I tried a new recipe this time – Canadian Living’s Creamy Pumpking Pie. The pie was good (I used my own crust recipe), but the maple whipped cream that you serve it with is something else. What a simple idea, just add maple syrup instead of sugar when you whip the cream. Delicious, delicious, delicious. I will be making maple whipped cream for everything now – pancakes, ginger bread, hot chocolate, everything… Don’t wait for next Thanksgiving to try it!
