I was much better at cooking solo before I got married. Now I sink into a mess of bad habits that I most definitely didn’t have before, but have developed now that I have a spouse to feed. Cook dinner for myself? I could, or I could just open another can of Campbell’s chicken noodle soup and slop some organic spring greens into a bowl. Ta-da! Protein, carbs and veggies… As soon as he leaves for the field I tend to stop grocery shopping, leaving the house after the sun sets and eating at the dining room table. This explains the fridge with only eggs, yogurt, salad and bacon these days… Good news is he returns soon, and if my soup supply runs out, I can always switch to coddled eggs and salad (it’s good to have a back up plan).
