An Update on the Home Repairs

I haven’t said much about the home repairs lately because it feels like we’ve be doing the same thing over and over again for the last couple months. Mudding the house is taking forever, we started in Julyand are still going strong in February. Not saying that Jon is slow, or undedicated to the mudding, but it seems that every time we think we’re getting close, we find something else that needs mudding. I just went to Totem and brought home pail #5 of mud. We’re actually running out of space to stack the used mud containers!

Currently, every room on the main floor, with the exception of the bathroom, are being mudded. As you can see from the following photos, our furniture has been shuffled around to accommodate the on-going renovations. We’ve got our buffet in the middle of the dinning room, the dinning room table in the living room, and my clothes are now either in living in the main hallway, or sometimes the bathroom. To further complicate things, Jon has moved his mudding platform into the basement stairwell. This allows him to mud from a flat surface, but getting into the basement now requires crawling out onto the platform and then down a ladder. Its a bit awkward…

We’ve got just under two weeks (until March 6) to get as many home repairs done as possible. We’ve got to clean things up before we head out on our vacation, and I think we’ll need at least a weekend for that!
