Holy Flock!

We were visited by what must have been over a hundred Bohemian Waxwings this morning. According to the bird books, flocks of this size occur around this time and rampage through neighbourhoods eating. Luckily, we were already outside with the camera (trying out the new Crumpler 6 Million Dollar Home) and simply popped on the telephoto. The birds stayed in our tree for about a half hour before moving on (see photos)…

Other bird spottings over the holidays include an American Dipper (at Jasper Park Lodge) and reoccuring sightings of five Gray Partridges at our feeder. The partridges cause quite a stir as Donnelly is unable to control himself when birds of that size show up, and Patches can’t handle Donnelly having more fun than him.
